Sam-e or S-adenosyl-L-methionine is a dietary supplement widely used in Europe for a variety of ailments, but it’s most notable benefit is being an effective alternative treatment for depression. Compared to other supplements, Sam-e is not a nutrient, vitamin, mineral, enzyme, or hormone.
